Steve Dearden likes to commission writers and get their work to readers as simply as possible in projects like this and Light Transports, in which regionally produced or sourced short stories were handed out to commuters on Yorkshire's mainline railway stations.

Other projects include a UK Canadian exchange Foundland, and a UK Finnish exchange Interland on which he worked as a writer, and which ended up as the beautiful tri-lingual book Six Steps Underwater, published by Smith Doorstop.

Steve also runs the Writing Squad, a development programme for writers aged 16-20.
